Welcome to BSA Troop 235 website.

Interested in joining our Troop?

Ages:  Boy Scouts is for all boys ages 11-17 (Grades 5-12).

Meetings:  Troop 235 meets on Tuesday nights at 7:00 in the new Fellowship Building at Red Hill Lutheran Church, located at 13200 Red Hill Avenue, Tustin, CA 92780.

You are always welcome to visit our Troop meetings and learn about our many activities. We are very active and camp almost every month.  Select "Contact Us" and send us a message.  We can schedule a visit and let you know what activities are planned for upcoming meetings.

Changes to Youth Protection Policy

Attention: All BSA Registered Volunteers

Recently, the Boy Scouts of America announced important changes to its Youth Protection policies. The purpose of these changes is to increase awareness of this societal problem and to create even greater barriers to abuse than already exist today in Scouting.

Summer Schedule

Dear Parents and Scouts,

Tonight is our last "regular" troop meeting. After this week, we will only be meeting twice per month during the summer. As such, there will be no troop meeting next week.

Below is the summer schedule of when we will have meetings in June, July, & August. Scouts should wear class B uniforms during summer meetings.

Summer Troop Meetings:
June 29
July 6, 27 (the meeting on July 27 will be a special meeting for a grunion run--details coming)
August 10, 24

Our regular Troop meetings will resume August 31.

Since we will not meet weekly, please read any and all troop emails for important information, especially concnerning the upcoming Philmont treks and summer camp.

Troop Meetings

Dear Parents and Scouts,

Just a quick reminder that our Troop meeting starts at 7 p.m.

Recently, Scouts have been arriving later and later (some as late as 8 p.m.!), which not only makes it difficult to start the meeting on time, but also to end the meeting on time.

It is our goal to end the Troop meeting by 8:15 or 8:30 p.m. at the latest; however, this is quite difficult if we cannot start the meeting until 7:15 or 7:20 due to a lack of Scouts. For example, there were only 8 Scouts (out of 60 registered Scouts!) at last week's meeting at 7 p.m., which resulted in starting at 7:15.

It also makes it quite difficult to run a quality program when there is a contant trickle of Scouts into the meeting throughout the evening.

Thus, please note the following:

1. Scouts should arrive in time to start the meeting at 7 p.m.
2. Scout leaders (SPL, SPL cabinet, & PLs) should arrive by 6:50 p.m. so they are ready to lead the meeting
3. Scoutmasters should arrive by 6:45 p.m.
4. Attendance will be recognized at the Court of Honor (we started keeping track of attendance in January, when we started meeting in the new room)

It is also important to note that rank advancement requires 75% participation in troop meetings and campouts. Now that we are keeping track of attendance again, this will be considered during Scoutmaster conferences.

Troop Inventory...Do you have troop stuff at your house?

Do you have any Troop supplies or gear at your home?

Due to lack of storage for the Troop, many people are holding Troop items such as uniform bins, canoes, or other items at their homes. The Troop committee is planning for the storage needs of the Troop and would like to know what you have so as to plan for possible storing it in one location and returning your garage space to you.

Can you let me know what you have?

Newport Seabase Classes Now Enrolling for Summer

This is a great way to knock out a few merit badges over the summer months.  Scouts should bring a merit badge book to each class. Scouts should also bring their Scoutmaster signed blue cards to the first day of class. The Newport Sea Base does not provide or sell blue cards.
