Return from the Planet of Emerald Bay!

Posted on Jun 21 2017 - 9:03pm

Yes, that's right parents, the quiet house and refrigerator food surplus couldn't go on forever - you will need to retrieve your Boy Scouts this coming Saturday morning at 10:00am, same place in San Pedro (adjacent to the Battleship U.S.S. Iowa) that they departed from.

Please be on time!!! The boats may arrive later but they also might not. The Scoutmasters already spent an entire week with our 50 boys, so please don't leave our leaders stranded at the docks waiting for you -- they cannot go home until the last Scout gets picked up!

Pocket Certificates

Posted on Jun 21 2017 - 8:30pm
We are working to transition entirely away from using the decorative pocket certificates. For this past session at Emerald Bay, scouts may elect to request pocket certificates. Please note that these cards have always been, and continue to be, purely ornamental. They serve no official Council purpose and are not intended to be submitted with Eagle applications. You must retain the single page printout which lists the Merit Badges earned at EB, as that sheet is the official document. You will receive this summary sheet in your envelope at the September Court of Honor. Keep it safe!

Email dr.lamhuynh@gmail.com or text/call (714) 227-6087 with the number of merit badge pocket certificate cards you'd like and I will deliver them to you as soon as possible during the regular Troop meetings.

Next stop: BSA Camp Emerald Bay

Posted on Jun 15 2017 - 8:50pm

Apologies, Troop Parents, but a new state policy is now requiring Emerald Bay to get one additional form signed by every Scout's parent before Camp, and we just received it this afternoon.

Therefore --- please print out the CA Shooting Permission form attached below, sign it and bring it (along with any of the other previous forms not yet submitted) with your Scout this Sunday morning -- otherwise he won't be allowed to participate in any of the shooting activities at Camp.
