Welcome to BSA Troop 235 website.

Interested in joining our Troop?

Ages:  Boy Scouts is for all boys ages 11-17 (Grades 5-12).

Meetings:  Troop 235 meets on Tuesday nights at 7:00 in the new Fellowship Building at Red Hill Lutheran Church, located at 13200 Red Hill Avenue, Tustin, CA 92780.

You are always welcome to visit our Troop meetings and learn about our many activities. We are very active and camp almost every month.  Select "Contact Us" and send us a message.  We can schedule a visit and let you know what activities are planned for upcoming meetings.

What's New?

With Committee and Scoutmaster approval, Merit Badge Pocket Certificates will no longer be issued at the Courts of Honor. Scouts will continue to receive rank cards for Scout through Life and Palms, Merit Badge cards in those instances when no blue cards are necessitated (e.g., Emerald Bay), and cards to signify other honors such as Totin' Chip, World Conservation Award, etc. 

Why?

The newest web based version of TroopMaster offers blank (without any BSA insignia) proprietary card stock to customize cards, but no longer automates rank/MB labels as they had in the past. That means that the 28 ranks, 139 MBs, and various other honors from the May Court of Honor were individually hand-typed, leaving far too much room for human error.

The cards are not now, nor have they ever been, required to accompany the Eagle Scout Rank Application. Since Scouts are expected to retain the Applicant's Record portion of their blue card, the pocket certificates are both redundant and cumbersome because they must be removed prior to submission.

If your Scout wishes to create his own pocket certificate, he can request cards, which he would then fill out himself.

Scouts! We are changing up troop elections this fall, holding them earlier so the new PLC has time to meet and plan for 2017. New leaders will not take office until July 1st 2017.

Red Hill Lutheran School Carnival

Have FUN (and earn service hours) at the annual Red Hill Lutheran School Carnival, next Friday, June 2, from 4pm to 7pm. Even a one hour shift will be appreciated and set-up begins around 2:00 in the afternoon. Just list your work times in the "Notes" section on the sign-up page, and be there, aloha!

We're currently behind last year's total # of helpers so we need LOTS of cheerful Troop 235 Scouts in their Red hats & Class B gear out there, helping with booth set-up, game operations, food sales, clean-up and many other fun jobs . . . Remember, a Scout is helpful.

A big part of Scouting is in service, giving back to our community. This one is doubly important as RHLC is our sponsoring charter organization, so sign up now and see you at the Carnival !! 

Please wear your Class B uniform (red shirt) and troop hat.
