Welcome to BSA Troop 235 website.

Interested in joining our Troop?

Ages:  Boy Scouts is for all boys ages 11-17 (Grades 5-12).

Meetings:  Troop 235 meets on Tuesday nights at 7:00 in the new Fellowship Building at Red Hill Lutheran Church, located at 13200 Red Hill Avenue, Tustin, CA 92780.

You are always welcome to visit our Troop meetings and learn about our many activities. We are very active and camp almost every month.  Select "Contact Us" and send us a message.  We can schedule a visit and let you know what activities are planned for upcoming meetings.

Camporee requires an individual Permission Slip for scout participation.  Can you please download and fill out the PDF Form and bring it with your scout when you drop them off.

Summer Camp - Emerald Bay **Registration is now open**

It's almost that time again for the most important activity in a Boy Scout's year: Summer Camp! Once again Troop 235 is returning to Camp Emerald Bay on beautiful Catalina Island, and space is available on a first come, first served basis, so don't miss the boat --- register early. Every summer, thousands of Boy Scouts travel from all across the country to visit Emerald Bay, regarded as one of the finest BSA Summer Camp experiences anywhere, and we're blessed to have it right here in our back yard, with unmatched ocean- and nature-related opportunities for our boys.

Mandatory Grand Canyon Backpacking Downhill Gear Check

Start: 2 PM April 9, 2017

End: 3:30 PM April 9, 2017

Event Details:

All participants must attend this Grand Canyon downhill gear check. Bring all your gear for the Grand Canyon. We will go through the checklist handed out and emailed to you, verifying that each participant has all the gear needed for backpacking at the Grand Canyon. We will also cover any last minute details.

Scout Skills Campout

Scoutcraft and Fishing Campout

Start: May 12 2017 - 4:30pm

End: May 14 2017 - 2:00pm

Location: Pinezanita Campground (Near Lake Cuyamaca)

Scoutcraft!

A full weekend working with new scouts on their scout skills. New Scouts will have opportunities to learn and sign off many requirements for Tenderfoot, 2nd Class and 1st Class rank advancement. You do not want to miss this campout!

Fishing!

There is an on-site pond/lake that is fully stocked for fishing. Scouts can bring their own gear or rent at the campsite. We will have limited amounts of gear to borrow.

EDGE!

Scouts ranking 1st Class and above will be teaching younger Scouts using the EDGE method. This is required for higher rank advancement.

Parent Meeting *RESCHEDULED TO APRIL 18th*

The monthly Troop Parent Meeting is moving from next week (April 11) to the following Tuesday (April 18 at 7pm) due to Spring Break and the outing at Grand Canyon. This will be an important meeting for parents as we have a very busy camping schedule coming up, including Summer Camp at Emerald Bay, which is only a little over 2 months away (!)

Cooking Merit Badge, Academic Portion

Scouts with a signed blue card may participate in this session, in partial fulfillment of the requirements toward the Merit Badge in Cooking. It is very strongly recommended but not absolutely required that you complete the cooking worksheet, as long as you are able to respond in great detail and with sufficient accuracy in the group session. Be punctual and ready to discuss: 

1. Heath and safety
2. Nutrition
3. Cooking basics
7. Food-related careers
